Announcing the 2nd Annual
Race for the Warrior
IPFW Gates Athletics Center
Saturday, May 21st, 2016
9:00am Race Start
Celebrate Armed Forces Day by running or walking this course that traverses the beautiful IPFW campus. There will be activities for the kids, food and beverages, and a beer after the race for each runner over 21. The Race for the Warrior is a fundraiser for the Fort Wayne Base Community Council and its Military Support Fund. This fund provides one-time grants to local Military members for emergency needs, allowing the Service Member to focus on the mission serving our country and community. The fund helps fill a crucial role in supplementing family readiness resources provided through our Armed Services and community partners.
The 2016 Race features a 5k run or walk option. The 10k option is not being offered this year. Sign up is via RunSignUp.com at the link above. The course is being certified through US Track & Field. Registration will start at 7:30am on May 21st.
Early Registration is open until April 15th for just $25 per runner. From April 16th to May 17th the cost is $30 per runner. After May 17th and including race day, registration is $35.
Awards will be given for male and female age groups and overall winners.
Each runner will receive an official Race for the Warrior T-Shirt and a swag bag provided by our sponsors and community partners. Runners age 21 and over will also receive one free beer after the finish. Water, fruit and food will be provided for runners of all ages.
Packet pickup will be the night before the race (at a location to be announced) for all runners who have registered by May 17th, 2016. T-shirts and swag bags cannot be guaranteed for registrations received after May 17th, so register early!
